Michał Piechowicz, Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun, Poland. I received my PhD from the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies at the Nicolaus Copernicus University. In December 2011 I succesfully defended my dissertation entitled “Economic lobbying in the EU decision-making process”, and in February 2012 I obtained the title of Doctor of Humanities in the field of political science. I am currently an assistant professor at the International and European Law Unit at the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies at the NCU. I publish in the areas of European integration, lobbying, and security.
I was a scholar of few programms as well as a participant in both national training programs (School for Leaders), and foreign ones. During my master’s studies I took part in the Erasmus+ program at the Karlstad University in Sweden in the field of Intercultural political studies. I also participated in the annual course of the Academy of Young Diplomats (specializing in international institutions) organized by the European Diplomatic Academy. I participated in a series of meetings and seminars organized at the headquarters of the European Commission and the European Parliament as a part of the international program European Values Network.
The Transformation.doc program organized by the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education at the Lund University in Sweden as well as the Summer School on the EU’s Common Foreign and Security Policy organized by the University of Agder in Norway are worth mentioning as the most important academic events in the international sphere.
I worked in the PR & Marketing department of an international corporation originating in Japan. I also support small entrepreneurs in their development; focusing on internal organizational issues and on creating a marketing and communication strategy. Thanks to these activities I have experience in fostering communication in both national and international campaigns. From practical aspects, it is worth pointing out my cooperation with the media houses and creative agencies, administering social media profiles, preparing projects and printing information leaflets, forms, mini catalogs and catalogs, managing advertising expenses, managing projects with social partners as a sponsor, participation in preparation of projects and production of TV, radio and press advertisements, preparation of Press Pack products, updating of PR company database and participation in preparing large Public Relations events.
